Zoom Junior Church Children are invited to join with others from our local Methodist circuit online. Junior church starts at 10am and will finish at 10.35am so that members can join the Circuit Zoom Service. The host might show as ‘Little Acorn Services’ so don’t let that confuse you! Young members can join Junior Church if you email firstname.lastname@example.org for the link.
Please get in touch if you would like support for your children during these times when we are restricted in what we can offer.
See This Sunday’s Worship for the latest updates about our gatherings.
What are we missing?!
Pre-pandemic, Young Church met during the morning service most Sundays, meeting in church for the start of the service then heading off into the Guild room for a Bible story followed by games and age-related activities. We try to cater for children from 3 – 12 yrs of age, and the group would re-join the rest of the congregation towards the end. Young children could bring their grown-ups with them, or our experienced team would take good care of them for their separate activities.
If you preferred to keep your children with you for the whole service, that’s ok too. Those under 3yrs of age would be expected to stay with their parents. There are books and toys and colouring activities etc. in the welcome area.
If you needed to take your child out of a service at any stage, you could use the welcome area by the church doors, from where you can watch what is going on in church. There is a toilet on the left as you enter the main church doors, and a pull-down changing table in the church hall ‘ladies’.
Our Safeguarding officer Aelwyn oversees all our engagement with children and vulnerable people. Full DBS checking is undertaken, and we aim to follow best practice at all times.
